My love for nature and curiosity with soil began at a very young age, growing up surrounded by Pennsylvania farmland, between Amish country and Philadelphia. I have a permaculture design certificate, and I’m a Certified Lab Technician with the Soil Food Web program led by Dr. Elaine Ingham’s groundbreaking work on soil and compost. From 2024 to the present, I’ve been working in northern New Mexico to teach soil microbiology basics, as well as creating and analyzing composts and soils.

My background and approach

Tailoring to your unique land goals
I bring over 20 years of consulting experience in digital technology and technical writing, including for biology and meteorology clients, to my work in soil regeneration. Deep experience in consulting makes it easy for me to tailor projects to suit client needs. I also draw on my M.A. in writing and passion for explaining complex ideas in plain language to help others understand the process, principles, and benefits of regenerative techniques. Let’s talk about your goals and customize an approach to suit your budget.
My most recent clients include the United Nations and university-level biology educational content provider, SimBio.

I’m driven by a curiosity and desire to heal our lands. How about you?
I’m slightly obsessed with ecology and understanding why life works the way it does. Aren’t you also curious what’s in our soil?
FAQs
What can I accomplish with a biological assessment?
A biological assessment will let us examine your life underground (or in your compost), empowering you to make more informed decisions about how to best grow what you want to grow to meet your goals (growing food, reducing erosion, greening your landscape). It can be done for any soil in the world. I share photos of your soil or compost under the microscope as well as a detailed report.
How much does it cost?
As little as $50, depending on what you’re trying to accomplish.
